I agree with this. You can make other formulas higher calorie count. My son is on PurAmino and we mix it to 24 calories/ounce. The probiotics should help too. She will need to advocate for this little one and push to find something to help him. Some drs just write off problems that can be fixed! If she wants to come join DS, there is a great adoption/foster care subforum on here and we would love to support her in this journey.

My preemie was born at 28 weeks. He was put on the preemie formula. only different is it's higher cal. You can actually ix and formula to increase the cal. He was a good size being over 6lbs. I would think he was born 37 weeks at that weight. My son was 2#7oz at 28 weeks. My 34 weeker was 3#6oz and wasn't on the enfacare very long, then put her on the nutramagin. Also not sure on your state, but nys covers special formulas through insurance.
