Nebulizer Help!

I second the distinction between pulmicort and albuterol. Wondering if the script was for pulmicort daily to manage inflammation/ strengthen the lungs and albuterol as needed for wheezing... And somehow this got confused so the children were essentially being given the prn albuterol daily (as a preventative) when they should be given the pulmicort?

If you do find out the meds aren't needed and it truly is a placebo effect, then I don't think you'd have to even put anything in the machine... Just run it dry and see if they catch on lol! Or, pretend to put the meds in, tell them the dr changed their script (so the machine might sound differnt) and run it dry lol!

Thanks for all of the help ladies. Unfortunately I do not have access to their medical info... I will call their social worker on Tuesday after the holiday though and see if I can talk to their dr. As far as I know there is only a script for albuterol which clearly states to only use as a rescue med. It has been given daily for the past month+ regardless of any wheezing/coughing etc solely to "help them sleep". I also only received boxes of albuterol with one little girls name on them, not the other, which concerned me. I called the social worker and was instructed to "just use that for both"

It's an uphill battle at this point I think... Ill try though! Thanks again for the info.
