My hubby's best friend was told he was a father when the baby was around the year old. The mom named him of course and gave him her last name. After paternity was confirmed he went to court and the judge allowed him to change the name. The judge decided he would allow dad to give him a new first name and the dads last name and use the old first and middle name as the two middle names that the mom chose.
