Re: What do you NOT like about wool?
Well I actually do like wool. I plan to do all wool with my next baby but I am going to make all the covers from sweaters so it won't be expensive. I could never pay 50 or more dollars for a diaper, I just couldn't. I agree with pp's it takes a long time to dry and when I have a noobie I'm am always going to be paranoid about getting poop on it. Especially b/c they poop like every hour at that age. With PUL covers you can usually use it 2 or 3 times in a row where as with wool you have to set it aside for a couple hours before using it again. It's generally more of a hassle but cuteness wins and I think fitteds are great too so it will give me and excuse ot get a bunch of those.

I do love wool but there is a time commitment aspect. Yes it can repel some stains when nicely lanolized, yes it is breathable and comfy and soft and lovely. But when it IS finally time to wash and lanolize... it takes time. And then there is the price. I hate having ANY expensive item anywhere on or around a baby, it is too much pressure (for me) to keep it nice and clean and in good condition. I want cheap stuff I can beat up, lol.
If I were to do wool again (I am currently planning to discontinue wool for #2, at least until I have only 1 in diapers again and feel like life is under control) I would do only upcycled and used old interlock, have a pretty big stash and machine wash everything. And not really lanolize, maybe just a spray lanolin. I am planning to use a lot of poly fleece for baby 2. It is not as nice as wool, but a windproof fleece is bulletproof for wetness, it breathes well for rashy times and is warm in winter, and you can throw it all in the normal wash. It sucks for summer but I figure summer is coverless or nakey time anyway

With DS I only used wool @ night & occasionally during the day. DD is super sensitive & can't tolerate PUL covers so we do wool full time. I have 2 soakers, 2 longies, 1 Sbish underwoolies (1 more of those otw). I have to change her pretty often b/c she hates being wet, so often the outside of her fitted isn't wet so I can reuse the same cover immediately.
One thing that I discovered recently that makes washing easier is Sbish cubes. Works great in stains & is a wash & lanolin all in one. I used a wool wash w/ lanolin before this but I would still have to lanolize every month. Now I just run the cube under warm water while the sink fills up & it's done with no lanolin spots. Love it!!

Fitteds are expensive.

Re: What do you NOT like about wool?
The only thing I hate is having to wait an entire day for it to dry
I also wish it was cheaper that way I could have more than 3 pieces

ETA: I just remembered something I don't like. I don't like having to pick stuff out of the wool if DD goes running through a pasture or somewhere with a lot of brush and tall grass.
