Almost 4 weeks ago we had an ultrasound on our baby. She measured teeny tiny- 3rd percentile. My dr said she wanted to do a follow up in 4 weeks to make sure she's growing enough. It has been the longest month ever. I've been eating extra protein and trying to lay on my left a lot and drink more. And of course reading too much! I feel like my stomach looks bigger and the kicks are stronger, and praying with all my might for good news Friday. Just needed to share

Well the good news is she grew a lot- 8 oz to 1 lb, 1 oz in a month. Her ear to ear measurement is average but all others very tiny, 5th percentile to less than 3rd. Going to go to specialist Monday and will hopefully get some answers. They'll look at blood flow and do chromosomal tests. I go back and forth between thinking its disaster and thinking it will be fine.

How crazy is this?
Today we went to the perinatologist for yet another ultrasound, and they measured her just a little bit bigger, and she came in at the 15th percentile. Checked out her heart and brain and everything else and said she looks great. No indication of trisomies or anything. They'll see us back in a month and do some cord blood flow tests. Because she's still lower weight, if she drops in percentile, they'll have to look at a possible early delivery. I can so live with that! Last edited by AngelElle; 03-04-2013 at 09:33 PM. |

Hope all turns out good. My baby measured 11oz at our 19+3 day scan. I was told that was above average. I was hoping for a smaller baby this time lol.
My dd was tiny during pregnancy and at birth and she's still tiny at almost 7. Some kids are just small framed ![]()

Re: Ready for next ultrasound
That's awesome news! Hopefully all works out fine. I've been highly skeptical of ultrasound weights after they told me while in labor I was probably gonna push out an 8lb baby. He was 6.7 when he came out. Not even close!

Re: Ready for next ultrasound
Think positive mama. I know it's hard (I worry a lot myself) but weights are off quite a bit from the ultrasound guess. I was told with DS#1 that I had a HUGE baby in there and needed to expect to deliver a 10-11lb baby. He was 7lbs 3.5oz. All the worry for nothing! They threw me into a panic when it came to delivery telling me before I pushed that it was going to take 4hrs. Within half hour he was out. I was upset.
I am glad to hear they did not find any "issues" must be a huge sigh of relief.
