Shipping Calculation

I know this might sound like a silly question but I'm want to be sure I'm doing this right (first time selling on DS). How exactly do you calculate shipping? I know that usps has a calculator online but you need to know the weight of the package. Can I just take the diapers into the Post Office and they could weigh it for me? What do you all usually do?

I have a postal scale. Do you have a kitchen scale? Otherwise it's best to get it weighed at the post office. You can estimate based on what amazon lists the as shipping weight.

Before I had my kitchen scale, I would weigh myself with and without the package on my bathroom scale. I'm sure I overpaid several times since it doesn't weigh down to the ounce.
