Anyone use a belly wrap after birth?

I want to belly wrap after the baby is born. There are several ways to do it including wrapping with fabric, girdle type etc...
What did you use and where did you get it?

I used a girdle from bellefit. Loved it! Extra support and helped my stomach go down. I went with the corset style.

I was given an abdominal wrap in the hospital post C-section. After that, I used one I found at Motherhood. Both were great, and I really like the support.

Watching this thread!

What's the benefit of the wrap - is it just to get back to pre-pregnancy size faster?

Re: Anyone use a belly wrap after birth?

I am planning on doing belly wrapping after this little girl decides to show up. I am just going to do a long strip of fabric similar to what is described here. http://rhythmofthehome.com/2010/08/mother-roasting/

I did a waist reducer corset for a few days PP, don't know if it did anything, but it felt supportive when I walked and I liked that. Sitting in it too nurse was not as much fun though.

I just had some underwear with a high waisted support panel that I had gotten from mama bargains.com it was nice & supportive- but didn't do much otherwise.
After a c/sec w/ds1 and now ds2 will be two in April I'm finally doing exercise to heal my diastase (sp) recti- the split between my abs. In about a month & a Half I've healed the top part- but the lower part is more difficult. You cannot do traditional an exercises. You can use a wrap for support- but if you want to get back to "normal" you'll have to fix your abs. Because it's split- when you eat your stomach expands easily because there are no strong muscles to hold it back. I found the exercises on Pinterest. Some are as simple as siting w/ your feet on the floor & sucking your muscles in... Think Kegals- but for your tummy!! Lol very easy on you after your PP period.
Hope this is helpful...

Re: Anyone use a belly wrap after birth?

I bought the BellyBandit (actually 2 different sizes and I certainly needed them!). I wouldn't have survived after my c-section or my gallbladder surgery (at 4weeks PP) without them!!! I was able to get up and walk around 4 hours after the c-section and about 1 hour after recovery from gallbladder removal. It allowed me to wear pants without throwing up (the pressure on the incision was unbearable otherwise) and it really protected my stomach from DD's kicks or other flailing movements. I'm so glad that I never sold them because I'll need them after #2's born!
