Re: Favorite sandwich bread recipe thats easy?

Great thread! Subbing. I have come fairly close but, my recipe is white. I am sure there is a better sandwich bread recipe out there though.

Made this today and I should have doubled the recipe! We will probably have the loaf gone by tomorrow night. My kids gobble up homemade bread. DS actually wanted two slices for snack since it was fresh out of the oven

DH refused to eat homemade bread till I made it this way

1/4 c sugar
1/4 c olive oil
1 1/2 c hot water
5 c bread flour (make sure its bread flour)
3 T vital wheat gluten
comes out nice and fluffy every time

DS has picked fresh homemade bread over cookies for snack before, he loves it fresh out of the oven and bugs me until I give him some. I LOVE that our 5 yr old appreciates homemade bread so much and he said his PreK teacher even pointed out once that he had homemade bread

My kids are equally doomed on the snobby end since I am not sure they know what sposies look like either.
I finally got a Bosch Universal mixer (wanted one for years) and it makes it so much easier but, before that mixer I kneaded by hand and it isnt bad just takes a little longer.
