Calling all smoothie makers
I've got a Magic Bullet and it works well for regular smoothies but forget about adding veggies, flax seed, peanut butter and a few other things. It just doesn't pulverize them the way I'd like/need.
So question...which blender do you use? |

Vitamix all the way baby! I know it is really expensive but it is the #1 used apppliance in our house so for us it has been well worth it.

I adore my Ninja! I got it on sale for $127 and it's fantastic. Zero complaints!

I just use a standard blender for my smoothies it takes a bit but blends pretty smooth. Someday I want a fancy blender though
We love smoothies at our house. I always throw in spinach or other veggies for added nutrition for the kids. I think they are so much healthier than juicing because you keep all the fiber. What all do you use the vitamix for? I hear a lot of good things about it but I would need to justify the cost.

Re: Calling all smoothie makers
We do smoothies daily(all kinds.) make banana ice cream, sorbet, veggie/fruit purees to use in baking, sometimes I will puree 1/2 of a soup to give it more body and make it creamy. You can make nut butter with it but I have not had success with that in the vitamix or the food proccessor. I think its me
![]() We have a mostly vegan household and I love how it helps us get in some diversity. The vitamix can handle carrots, nuts, raw oats, seeds, dates, beets....pretty much anything I have thrown at it except my sad attempt at making almond butter.

We've got a vitamix! It's about 7 or 8 years old and still going strong. It can purée anything.

Re: Calling all smoothie makers
I have an Oster beehive blender. It only has pulse and one other speed, but so far it has handled everything I have put in it.

Re: Calling all smoothie makers
I don't use a blender. I use my mini Kitchenaid food processor. It pulverizes anything except the avocado pit my daughter put in there while I wasn't looking.
