Re: Simplex diapers with shot PUL

fun fact is that much of the PUL coming out of China is garbage and will fall apart fast. Know where the PUL is made, and it will save you a lot of pain.

The birdseye is perfect... Not even any staining. Just horribly cracked pul.

And I thought Swaddlebees did use American made stuff?

Re: Simplex diapers with shot PUL

made in the USA does not mean all materials come from the USA. I read through their website "about us" and that part isn't mentioned, but keeping it "made" in the USA was. I'd think that if the materials were made here they'd want to shout about that.

I've worked with the major PUL makers in the USA (3 different companies) and their PUL is not going to come apart.

Do you know which brands use USA made PUL, by any chance?

Not conclusively. I'm 99% sure the bumgenius is not China made PUL, same with rumperooz (although that one I'm only about 75% sure). Thirsties uses really good quality stuff, and I'm 99% sure they're not China either.

Re: Simplex diapers with shot PUL

Thirsties so far has been the only diapers where the PUL eventually failed. I couldn't tell if the PUL was cracked or such as it was with their AIOs and they fleece line the inner but they just starterd to consistantly leak. I could temporly restore them with a waterproof spray but I had to reapply often..

Oh that's painful. I doubt that the PUL was defective but glad that the company is willing to double check that. Unfortunately leaving the diapers sitting in the pail for too long is against the manufacturers recommendation for cleaning and care, for the exact reason that it will ruin the diapers.
I wouldn't knock the company for this one and never buy from them again though. I would chalk it up to a lesson learned the hard way that you need to wash your diapers according to the manufacturers recommendation.
Swaddlebees is one of the highest quality diapers on the market.
