DH had our names picked out for either sex. We had decided on Evelyn Elizabeth & Joshua Daniel. We're wavering on our boy name now. This is a big deal for us because we picked out our names early with both other kiddos and stuck to our guns each time. We've already announced our picks for this pregnancy! Anyhow, we're seriously considering the name Zander for a boy now. The middle name will still be Daniel - that's after my dad.

What do you think of the name Zander? Do you like it? Have you heard of it before? Do you know of anyone with that name? I'll appreciate your honestly even if you don't like it!

That is one of the names my wife an I liked for a boy. We would spell it Xander though. Unique but nothing too crazy.

My cousin's name is Alexander (girl) and goes by xander or xan.

I like the name but when I think of it I think that it is short for something...like Alexander

I like it but Joshua sounds better with Daniel IMO. I do think of it being a nickname vs. a "full" name but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I'm not opposed to the name. I know of a couple Xanders (spelled with an X). I agree about not liking the flow of Zander Daniel; it is sort of alliteration-y which I really dislike. Joshua Daniel sounds much nicer together.

This has evolved greatly over the course of the evening. I think we've decided officially on Alexander Daniel, but we are never going to use his legal name. We will call him Zander forever and ever, Amen. Now, we just need him to be a boy! LOL

I like the name a lot, but like the X spelling better than Z, even if its not short for Alexander. That said, I like Alexander better (it was our runner up!) with Zander as a nickname.

My DS's name is Alexander Richard, and we always call him Xander. I love it!
