Diaper Swappers

I started the naked from the waist down method (not sure if it as a proper name?) on Thursday afternoon. My son who is 29mths has caught on great. Not a single poopy accident and 1 pee accidents since yesterday morning. We have been using pullups at nap/bed time both of which he has peed in though he went on the potty as soon as waking this morning. I have a couple questions since everything is going splendidly thus far.. When should I introduce big boy undies during the day (and even at night) and also he is still in his crib. He has never shown an interest of climbing out so we have left him. Should I switch him to a big boy bed so he can get up to use his potty? I should also ad here that he hasnt mastered pulling his pants up and down. He can but hasn't mastered it and would now just prefer to be nakey. lol

LOL, so much easier to go nakey, esp. when the clothes are in the way! If you are going to do night training, I would definitely switch him to a regular bed. It may help him to feel more like a"big boy" and continue to encourage him to use the potty because that's what "big boys" do. Also, you may want to start having him go commando instead of straight to undies, that way if he does have an accident, he feels it running down his leg. Sometimes undies end up feeling like diapers again because it is right against the bum just like diapers. Either way, it's your call. Try the undies, see if he transitions well and if he does, keep him in undies. If not, try commando with soft cotton pants with elastic waist band so that they are easy to get off and on quickly. One thing you don't want: a nakie only PT'd kid!

You buy spiderman undies only a pack of 7 (or his favorite character). Then when he pees, the rest of the day he gets the plain old white undies. If he wants his spiderman... he won't pee on spiderman.

Thanks! We been doing commando style. He does pretty well like that. Only 2 "sorta" accidents the 1st day. So we have been accident free during the day since sunday evening.

Yesterday he woke from both night time and nap time dry but woke up wet this morning but I say its a good step in the right direction. He has been going right before we put him in the crib and he actually screamed for me when he was suppose to be napping so he could go then asked to be put back to bed.

I will be switching him to a big boy bed soon though. Last night he woke me fussing and I think it was when he had to potty but he was already pretty asleep again by the time I got to his room.

Unfortunately his favorite characters are from team umizoomi and Blues clues. I haven't been able to find any undies with them on there. If anyone knows where I might could find them I would be very grateful! He

I had the same question about changing over to a toddler bed from crib as well for potty training. Not sure if we are all ready for that! LOL! That is a great idea with character undies. We are formulating our potty training plan and I think we will use both ideas. Thanks! :-)

you can buy some prints or even use clothes, sew on to the undies
