I use it on rashy/irritated skin, as a hair conditioner, lotion, facial moisturizer, toothpaste (with baking soda), personal lubricant, sauteing, etc. I buy Nutiva on Amazon. It is organic.

Oh, and on my nipples when dd was a newborn. It was a lifesaver! I've also used it with blackstrap molasses in warm milk. Love the stuff!

It is awesome for your nipples/skin and baby's skin too! Virgin (unrefined) is preferred as it is naturally antimicrobial. But the refined stuff still makes an excellent moisturizer for skin/face/hair/nipples.

Re: Anybody using Coconut Oil?

I USE COCONUT OIL FOR EVERYTHING

deodorant
lotion
babys butt
cooking
baking
I soak it in my hair for an hour before showers and it makes my hair softer, and shinier
used to help make my stretch marks go away
I put this on before I shave as well no razor burn
THE BEST EYE MAKEUP REMOVER dap a little bit on a cotton ball or toilet paper and rub over your eyes and takes everything right off

also great to put on your face before bedtime, makes my skin soft and glowy and NO acne

1 glass bottle of coconut oil last about 4-6 months and used everyday for everything it's a great deal!

Re: Anybody using Coconut Oil?

I found a recipe for lotion that I want to try but I cannot find coconut oil. Can anyone tell me where a good (reasonably priced) place to get it would be?

DH uses it as cooking oil. I don't cause it leaves a flavor behind.
He also used a bit to style his hair.
I use it on my tummy.
DH uses it on the rash he gets from the dog.
He uses it to detail his car.
I use it on my dogs and myself as sun protection. And also to treat sunburns or any burn.
I use it as deodorant if I'm not going to be extra sweaty that day.
I use it before and after I shave my legs. (As shaving cream and after care)
Use it as Chapstick
I've heard it's great for cradle cap.
I use it on my hair before bed as a leave in conditioner and scalp moisturizer.
