TMI but if I don't get some relief soon I will scream....

Hemmorhoids. Yep. In full effect. I can thank #2 for this gift. It's not the pain as much as the itching that surrounds it. It literally will keep me up at night. It's embarrassing, hurts, and makes me just miserable!

Anyone found anything that works? I've tried everything...Prep H, Prep H Cooling Gel, Earth Mama Bottom Balm, Witch Hazel, Hydrocortisone, Tucks, etc. It's just not getting any better. It's getting worse.

I'm 38.5 weeks, so I know the end is near (haha). But this has been bringing me to tears it is so irritating!!

Any advice appreciated. I have a call pending with my midwife, but I haven't heard back yet...and it's Friday. Ugh.

DDC

Lots of baths (or sitz baths) and there is a prescription foam that helps a ton.

honestly, a friend of mine just used ice. she froze water in a cup, then put it in a ziploc bag, then put it in her undies. She said it was pretty uncomfortable for about 5 minutes, but that it REALLY helped to numb it, and helped with swelling.

Frozen witch hazel soaked cotton balls, Tucks cream, and leaving the darn thing alone otherwise are my recommendations. Mine was awful the first few days, but it calmed down when I stopped messing with it (pushing it back in is supposed to be some "miracle" cure, but mine came right back out and then felt more swollen and painful).

I was worried that it would be a hassle or embarrassing or painful during labor, but it honestly was the furthest thing from my mind.

Nupercainal. I think that's how it's spelled. It's a numbing cream used for burns/bee stings/etc. It's OTC and around $12 a tube, but mine lasts about 3 years and is the ONLY thing besides prescription suppositories that work. After 3 kids, it's the only thing I'll use. Shrinks those buggers fast.

That stuff worked amazingly after baby #2. This time it's not doing a darn thing.

Ice it is. My midwife also suggested a homeopathic witch hazel that is in pill form you take internally...under the tongue. I am going to grab some of that tomorrow.

Hopefully not much longer....it's always better after the baby is outta there!

No short term relief ideas here except make sure they stay up inside if they are hanging out they itch worse... After you go.. Wash hands and push them back in...sounds gross but it helps. Long term I would buy some Vein Supreme... It's a vein strengthener it cleared mine up after 2 weeks... At that point I had had them for almost a year after the birth of my last son. I had tried everything including the $100 foam etc...good luck
