The emotions of motherhood

I am currently 27 weeks pregnant. I have a 22 month old that hasn't nursed in about 2 months, and my milk is gone. Yesterday, I tried to hand express to see if colostrum was coming in yet and got nothing. This afternoon DS was having a kind of rough afternoon and asked for boobie. We went and sat on the couch and I tried hand expression again. This time I got colostrum. Of course as soon as DS put his mouth on my boob (he hasn't latched since we stopped nursing, just pretends) he says, "Boobie yucky!" Haha! He has been asleep for a couple hours and I tried expressing again and got zilch. It's amazing to me how much our love for our kiddos is literally physical!

Re: The emotions of motherhood

What a rollercoaster of emotions!

When I got pregnant with #2 my milk dried up like a desert! I tried every.thing to keep it up, but it was just GONE. Like your situation, my older nursling was forced to stop. But, kudos to you for being able to nurse your first for so long! I'm sure you're excited to start breastfeeding your new little one.
