You can always tell them, It is no use waiting. When baby weans they don't get to start nursing. You absolutely refuse to breastfeed an adult.

I am breastfeeding my 3rd. He is now 21 months old. I breastfed my older kids to shortly before they turned 4 years old. A mama on this sight said she has nursed until around 7+ years of age.

My opinion is as long as both mother and child are happy with the situation it is nobodies business when you wean.

I hate the lack of education on BFing. I still get this comment and we have a 7 month old :/. Actually I got this comment at 3 months. I'm even told to STOP SPOILING my child by BF. People are something else.

I was told a million times I was spoiling my kids be BFing. I told them if feeding my kids was spoiling them, then yes, I was.

ve gotten this comment a lot when people find out that my 28mo is still nursing. depending on my mood, i own up to the fact that my almost 4yo is too just to watch ytheir jaw hit the floor. they usually leave me alon eafter that. most people only see the baby nursing though, and i guess she's still a "safe" age since she's not quite 8mo.

Good for you! I plan on bfing until 16 months. Maybe longer depending on DS. My mom is supportive 100%. My dad not so much. But he lives across the country. I hope DHs family is supportive but if not they can kiss it
People in North America are just not educated about bfing. It's sad. A lot of other countries must think we are coocoo.
