How Long Does Your Hair Fall Out?

I know it is normal to lose hair PP due to not losing while PG, but mine is crazy! It is still filling the brush everyday after 11 months. My thyroid meds were just adjusted, so it could be that too. I am just trying to see if any other Mommas are losing hair this late after birth.

I had an old co-worker go bald after her last son was born. So I get worried I will too.

I'm right there with you. I think I need to adjust my thyroid meds maybe. But it seemed like with my first it too awhile for my hair to stop falling out. I definitely got thinner hair but not bald. I use thickening shampoo to help feel like my hair is thicker.

I had to start taking one less pill per week. So I am on my meds only 6 days per week. I hope this helps as I am used to having uber thick hair and it is thinning out more than normal.

Same here. I am also in thyroid Meds but my doc said my levels are normal

My last level was .26 and so I dropped a pill per week to make my levels go up. I just started this week. I am shocked by how much hair I am still losing. I am filling my brush each morning. It is weird for me. I do not remember this with my last ones.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I agree that it totally sucks to have your hair fall out and look sparse. I went through it, too.. with both kids. My hair looks so different now than before I had kids.

My hairloss began at 4 months and stopped falling out around 8 months. I don't have any thyroid issues.

I have no thyroid and had two kids pretty much back to back and it took a year for my hair to stop falling out and even start to grow. My levels were fine but I know things weren't right.

I remember some hair falling out the 1st 3 babies I had, but this time is crazy. I had super thick hair and now it has thinned right out. It has slowed down a bit from a few months ago. I am just so suprised that it is going this long.

Yup. No meds currently but I had thick hair no wispy things around my face & now hair goes everywhere so I feel like I have to use gel to keep back.

My first I lost handfuls before but not after birth & haven't grown it back since......sniffle

I am wondering if it is hormonal related to AF? With my first 3 babies I got AF back 3-4 mos PP. I only lost hair those first few months after birth with them. With Finn I still have not gotten AF back yet and am still losing hair. I wonder if the 2 are related?
