A bouncy vibrating seat that is more upright? My dd was also happy on the bouncy ball and she only liked this one bouncy chair that was really too upright for her. I used to roll blankets and put them on either side of her to keep her from sliding down too much.
But I was also told many times that 6 weeks is the peak of infant crying. It gets better after that.
As for the ped... have you tried calling and sounding hysterical about your crying baby? I know from experience that sounding like you have ppd and are going to lose it tends to get you a same day appointment...
Good luck. It will get better but when you're in the middle of it, I know that isn't much comfort.
