Front loaders and bleach

I currently wash it ALL free and clear which I plan to continue with when Lucianna arrives, but want to be able to bleach the loads for disinfecting every now and again. Im wondering how mama's with FL's do that? I was thinking like 1/8 cup bleach diluted in a ton of water into the detergent dispenser part? Im just worried about the lack of water to dilute it in the machine since it uses much less water.

Thoughts?

I used 1/4 cup in the bleach dispenser but they came out smelling bleachy and needed an extra rinse, so 1/8th is probably good.

Yup, 1/8 cup in the bleach dispenser works great!

I use 1/4 cup in the bleach dispenser with an extra rinse and it works great! Dipes don't smell bleachy and none of my colors have faded at all! I use bleach about every other wash just to keep any stink away!

Re: Front loaders and bleach

I use 1/8 cup bleach diluted to 1/2 cup and put in the bleach dispenser. Doesn't affect pul colors and has only slightly faded some of my colored natural fibers like fitteds and wipes (but I don't mind so long as they all get clean!). I use 2 extra rinses. Sometimes there is a faint bleach smell when I open the machine, but it is gone by the time the diapers are dry.

I put a cup of vinegar in my first rinse cycle (I run two rinses) after using bleach. It neutralizes the bleach since its an acid.
