Progesterone mamas! I need advice please!

Hi! I'm wondering if I should use progesterone...I have an appointment with a hormone naturopath next week but I thought I would try to gain some wisdom on here too.

I have been taking non-gmo soy protein shakes every day (mostly) twice a day since sept 2012 for weight loss purposes. This past week I discovered or realized that these shakes could be affecting my estrogen and perhaps my chances of conceiving. I have stopped them altogether.

Background: we have had two healthy pregnancies and two babies already and got prego on the first try with both so we do not have a history of fertility issues.

I just got AF again this week, this was our second cycle of TTC. My cycles have been longer than before I had AF last time between babies. They have been cd35, cd33, cd30, cd33, cd35... I haven't tracked before that.

What's your take on all of this? We are really hoping to conceive on this nest cycle! Do I need progesterone? What will help us in conceiving?
Thanks in advance!

Progesterone does not help with getting pregnant, but helps keep you pregnant once you get there. If the shakes have messed with your estrogen, than chances are you are not ovulating while on them and may need a few cycles to get back to normal. I would start temping to see when and if you are ovulating first and foremost. I had secondary infertility and temping really helped me understand my cycles.

i agree with Kimmie. I have seen lots of vegan moms on soy have alot of bleeding in their pregnancies until they stop. so in essence, they were threatened miscarriages till they stopped bleeding.
I myself loved eating those soy bars to help with weight after a baby BUT I started bleeding just a few months after birth (where I would not normally get a period for 1 1/2 yr later) and i also lost my milk supply. so I knew something wasnt right. for me, 1-2 bars a week started to mess with my body. so I am sensitive to it.
now, you can eat soy from time of period to right before O. you just should not do after O cause thats when you need your progesterone to start to build up. so if you O then mess with it and estrogen, your lining in the uterus will not get fluffy and help a fertilized egg embed in. thats bad.

It's expensive to see a naturopath. Should I even bother?

id do your own test by checking online if you are worried about $. see if it sounds like you have low progesterone and if you do get the cream or natural progon B pills from amazon.
