chicken and rice- bake a whole chicken in the oven til its about 3/4 way done, then use the drippings and water/chicken broth as needed to mix with rice right in the roasting pan. put it back in the oven til the rice and chicken are both done. we usually have broccoli with it.

It's been my sons favorite meal for as long as I can remember. Every time I ask what he wants for dinner (almost every day), his first response is "chicken and rice, it tastes so nice" lol.... we usually have it every other Sunday. If we had it every week, we'd never eat anything but leftover chicken

We aren't a picky bunch, but whole roasted chicken with green beans or broccoli and sweet potatoes causes great excitement here. The other one that makes my 4 year old dance around is my homemade meatballs and red sauce over spaghetti.

The top 2 are homemade gyros (really its more like slovaki but we call it gyros) and potato chip crusted chicken tenders with cheesy potatoes.
