I love the look of wool but don't want to do fitteds or prefolds and dont love the cost. I tried to teach myself to knt while pregnant with DS and that didn't work at all so ill just keep drooling from afar.

In my defense, I make small babies and they stay that way for a good while - we get a decent 5 months use out of our newborn stash!

Re: Newbie Stash! Whatcha planning?

So I am CD'ing for the first time (3rd Baby) and wondering what ya'll recommend for newborn/beginning? I tend to have large babies (1st was 9lbs 7oz and 2nd was 8lbs 10oz) and neither lost weight-- so Do I really need a "newborn stash"? or would one sizes be just fine. I've borrowed some Best Bottoms from a friend and have some one size pockets and AIO's. my friend did lend me some prefolds too, so if I got some thirsties covers (or likewise) would that be okay? how many diapers do I need if I plan on washing every day to every other day?

Re: Newbie Stash! Whatcha planning?

My thoughts have changed on what we'll be using for our first time cloth diapering a newborn. So here's the new list of what we'll end up with:

AIO
2 BG Newborn
1 xs Thirsties
1 lil joey
2 imagine newborn

Pockets
7 Thirsties Duo Diaper size 1

Fitteds
2 Kissaluvs size 0
3 Kissaluvs organic size 0
6 GMD Workhorse newborn

6 newborn prefolds

Covers
3 Thirsties duo wrap size 1
1 xs Thirsties

That's 30 diapers total and I already wash everyday for my 17 month old so I think it's a good variety. I most likely won't use the prefolds but have them "just in case".

What do y'all think?? My babies have ranged from 7.5 lbs to 9 lbs and always full term.
