Re: August 2013 Chat ~ March 24-30

I am ready for bed myself. I did several loads of laundry tonight, made meatballs for tomorrow, shaved!!! lol swept and steam mopped the kitchen and dining rm. All while watching KU lose. dang. We are headed out of town tomorrow for the day. I get to hang with my bff while dh bowls a tournament nearby. I wish there was someplace near her that I could do some baby shopping but she lives in a town smaller than me, and there's nothing in between us.
Have a good wknd ladies!

Re: August 2013 Chat ~ March 24-30

Dh came home early last night, so he ended up going with me, my parents, and the kids out last night. We visited my g-pa (he's 83) and went out to eat. It was nice not having one side of the bed empty last night.

Nothing much today going on here. Me and the kiddos might go into town and I may take DD to the dollar store to spend some of the money that she has saved up. She broke her piggy bank (honestly...by accident...she was trying to get a book off of the same shelf and the bank fell....poor thing cried for 20 min. over it.) and the little joker probably had close to $20 stashed away in the thing. We let her keep any money that she finds around the house or that people give her. Occassionally Dh and I will empty our change in the kids piggy banks too. May also hit GW while I'm at it. I just feel like I'm in the mood for bargin hunting!

I did my marathon shopping trip today. I made it through Trader Joe's before I could barely walk. I managed to go through New Seasons Market and never made it to costco, so we don't have dessert for Easter. The plan was strawberries and cream.

What are you having for Easter Dinner?

We are having grilled beer battered albacore, roasted potatoes and artichokes. Traditional Easter dinner

we aren't doing anything for Easter. Well, we had the kids fill some plastic eggs with change and we'll hide them later, but that's it. no baskets, or candy, or easter bunny. I didn't bother with dying eggs either. I think I'm making chicken noodle soup for dinner.

Re: August 2013 Chat ~ March 24-30

KatieB621 - I think we are going to do what DH wants to do and realize that the homeschooling curriculum that we chose isn't perfect but we are never going to find a perfect one. New Jersey has NO regulations on homeschooling so we can just skip over things we have issues with and add in things that we want him to learn. We think he is reading right now (like big words) but he will not "read" to us. Every now and then he just spits out things that we didn't tell him from packaging that we are dealing with. Yesterday he told his father the exact name of the Hobbit movie that he was going to watch with him. Where he got this I don't know, unless he was reading. Once he admits to us that he is reading though, reading will become a BIG thing in this house. We have a 17 foot long floor to ceiling bookshelf and he can start at one end and work his way to the other.

blessed1018 - on feeling baby movement! And at church too!!

sisu - Congratulations on staying green!

stevensmom - Were you exhausted because of Target or because of the parking lot? The parking lot for Target here STINKS!! Seriously I don't go there unless I have to because the parking lot stresses me out!

KatieB621 - for DH coming home early! Wow good for your DD to have saved $20! I want to get DS one of those piggy banks that teach him to tithe and give to others. Something like this but I want something that has the compartments smaller as they shouldn't all be equal. I saw it once but I forget where it is.

AmberP - Sounds good! We are having a greek dinner with lamb and something else. I think potatoes and spinach.

AFM - I got most of the boxes upstairs for Nathaniel that we need. I still need DH to take up one more. So I got started on figuring out how I wanted to organize DS closet to fit his brother. I figure that DS will get 2 drawers and half the hanging/shelf space, and Nathaniel will get 1 drawer (top drawer), the wall unit shelving and the other half of the hanging space. Hopefully this will work. DS has a walk in closet that has the changing station at the far end (long and narrow).

My DH is sleeping right now. How fair is that? I am the one that is pregnant and he is sleeping! DS is awake too!

Oh and TMI but I got a heck of a nose bleed in the middle of the night! Nothing like waking up and seeing a big red mark on your pillow! I am the only one dealing with this right?
