6 yr molars @ 3 yrs old???

My DD just turned 3 & has all 20 I her teeth. Last night she started complaining about tooth pain and pointed to the back of mouth. Sure enough the 6 yr molars are pushing up. Very swollen & bumped up. She has been waking up at night & acting like teething baby really for 2 weeks now so it makes sense. Has anyone experienced this?

My child was always late, so I don't know what is normal.

A general rule of thumb is that for every 6 months of life, approximately 4 teeth will erupt.
Girls generally precede boys in tooth eruption.
Lower teeth usually erupt before upper teeth.
Teeth in both jaws usually erupt in pairs -- one on the right and one on the left.
Primary teeth are smaller in size and whiter in color than the permanent teeth that will follow.
By the time a child is 2 to 3 years of age, all primary teeth should have erupted.
Shortly after age 4, the jaw and facial bones of the child begin to grow, creating spaces between the primary teeth. This is a perfectly natural growth process that provides the necessary space for the larger permanent teeth to emerge. Between the ages of 6 and 12, a mixture of both primary teeth and permanent teeth reside in the mouth.

DS got his teeth early he had all his baby teeth by 12 months and his 2 year molars completely in by 18 months. His 4.5 now and the dentist said his 6 year molars should be in in 6 to 9 months. She said that they are early.

Have you taken her to the dentist? They will do x-rays and tell you.
