advice for the newbie, please

i purchased a lot of 6 diapers. They were all listed as "size xyz" and in "EUC".

when i inquired about buying them, i said, "If the *diaperlot* have no holes or elastic or snap issues, i want to buy them." the seller replied that they had no snap, elastic, or fabric issues. so, i buy them, and the seller says she'll get them out asap.

4 days after I paid, the seller pm's me and says that she's noticed they have ebf stains and wants to know if i still want them. I told her that i did.

they arrived several days later. one is not the size listed, and 3 of the 6 diapers have sections of broken elastic in the legs.

i've been trying to communicate with the seller, but sometimes it takes her a while to get back to me, even though i can see she's been logged on here.

i've sent pictures showing the size difference and the elastic, but she said that the size difference didn't matter to her when she used the diapers and that she can't see the areas of bad elastic in the pictures i sent (it was difficult to capture, but I circled the areas using my mad paint skillz *giggles*).

if I send them back, am i going to have to be out return shipping, even though i did nothing wrong? that doesn't seem fair at all! i mean, i asked if the elastic had issues, and i wouldn't have bought them if i had known they did. i wouldn't have bought the one incorrectly sized diaper either. i'm trying to get my newborn stash built on a budget, and i don't have the funds to pay for return shipping or elastic replacement.

Where was this? what was the seller feedback? check returns and like information on ebay, if that is where you bought. If here, I don't know. I am still learning protocol as I am getting into more forum and not just the fsot area.

I would contact a mod at this point and let them know what's going on. They can also direct you on what to do from here. I'm sorry you had a bad experience!

Technically you are out shipping cost to return them, but will get refunded your original full amount. While it is not your fault what happened, the seller would have to agree to pay shipping back to her as it is not a rule.

so my question is did you see pix before buying? If the size was that different shouldn't it have showed in the pix? If you are unhappy file a claim and return the diapers. However you should contact a mod first . You would be out return shipping like others have said though.

Re: advice for the newbie, please

thanks for the replies!

there were pics in the listing, but they were a little blurry, especially on my small screen. That's why i asked specific questions about the diapers' elastic, etc. i thought i was doing good in asking detailed questions - i didn't think i needed to ask if they were the size stated. i enlarged one of the pictures on my desktop computer, and i can clearly see one of the spots of broken elastic. it's not something someone would notice if they didn't know where to look. also, in hindsight, i can see that the one diaper is larger. i just assumed that if a diaper's size is listed as xyz, that it will be the size stated.

with these diapers, the two difference sizes makes a big difference. i'm looking at an early delivery, and i need tiny, tiny diapers, which is what i thought i was buying.

again, thank you for the replies. it seems absolutely unfair that i be out return shipping though. *sadface*

am I allowed to leave negative feedback or will it be retaliated against? this has certainly been a negative transaction for me, especially if i have to be out return shipping

I'm sorry you are dealing with this. It surely sucks.
And the shipping thing...it's the downfall of buying online. Even with online stores, you normally have to pay shipping if you want to return or exchange something.

For me, I would hold off leaving neg FB until everything is settled. If she does answer you and willingly refunds you and all that, I'd leave neutral feedback, or heck, I wouldn't leave any at all but that's just me.
If she continues to give you the run around and makes it difficult for you, then I'd leave negative FB

PLEASE leave feedback. The system is pointless if others aren't warned of issues previous buyers have had. That said, wait until the entire situation is resolved and then decide what to leave. Retaliatory feedback is not allowed and a mod can remove it for you.

I'm sorry mama, that's a crappy (no pun intended) situation.
