Parenting Fail

...that was the message that came with this pic when DP texted it to me last night:

Apparently, she had looked away from DD (3) just long enough for her to make a mess of her crafts...she only looked back b/c DD said, "Uh oh, that's gonna take a long time do dry, Mommy."

Note to self: DD needs direct supervision while doing crafts

DD did something like this once. She decided all the white glue was snow. So it could be snow on the Easter egg. (Pretty accurate around here.)

Your DD was quite observant concerning the drying time.

Re: Parenting Fail

I thought the fail was the cheez-its.

I'm totally KIDDING!

I lurve Cheez-its.

Glue messes are fun. I can never manage to find them and clean them before they cake onto the surface of where they were spilled... and once they cake on, it's a lot of water and scrubbing, water and scrubbing, more water, more scrubbing.... we will be here a while, my friend.... Did I mention, my kids hide their glue spills under paper or objects? Maybe I should take a lesson from you and more closely supervise crafts...

Hmph, well you know, of course we usually buy Annie's (we totally don't & we've been eating Cheez-Its like they're going out of style)

The last time I wasn't supervising, DD was eating a snack of pretzels & cream cheese (another parenting fail). Looked up from my computer to see a forest on my coffee table. DD had broken all of her pretzel sticks in half, dipped them in cream cheese, and stuck them to the coffee table. I of course pulled a, "WHAT are you doing?!?" To which she responded, "It's a craft project, Mama. Don't be so silly." That was really just par for the course with her.

This also made me remember that when I was a kid, I had an unnatural affinity for coating my hands w/ glue, letting it dry, then peeling it off. Yeah, she gets the weird from me, and clearly it's a "nurture" trait

Re: Parenting Fail

We have had worse than that more than once. For the longest time I banned glue in the house. I was pg the first time and fell asleep, she dumped an entire bottle all over our table which has the slates to expand it so it went all over the floor too.
