Baby Hammock

Has anyone used a baby hammock?
I am thinking of getting one for teh newbie and I have a ton of questions. How did baby like it? How long did baby use it? I thought I saw something about them lasting a long time but every thing I have seen lately has said stop using at 3 months?
Where did you buy yours?

Re: Baby Hammock

I used one and loved it, but it has since been recalled, but we used it for DS even after that. We used the Amby. DD coslept with us at night but took her naps in the Amby until she was about 16 months. This was past the age people recommend because they say the child can be hurt trying to climb out. DD would always just lay there until I came to help her out.

We used an Amby and LOVED it! We used it until the kids could pull themselves into a sitting position. It helped a ton with reflux and with kids who liked to feel cuddled. We bought ours at a yard sale.

Re: Baby Hammock

I used one with Tharen, he didn't like the swing quite as well as Kearnan did (probably because he was so heavy it couldn't move him well). I did lower it to just above the ground when he could start moving around on his own so he didn't fall out of it. He could then get himself out if he wanted to (and he did). I felt much safer because he would not let me know when he woke up, just climb right out and the little straps did nothing to keep him in just frustrated him. He co-slept at night.
