damaged package

So I ordered 6 books from a dealer through amazon and they arrived today and the package was ripped open and one of the books has obviously damaged. The books were used and I paid separate shipping totaling almost $24. They were shipped all together in a plastic envelope thing (ill post a picture). What I wanted to know was who should I contact? Amazon or the vendor? Also what should I expect as far as resolution?

This is the hole

the side of the book

The obvious water damage.

There were also some small tears but I don't think pictures are necessary. Anyone who can help me it would be appreciated.

Re: damaged package

Contact the vendor directly through Amazon and send them pictures. I would imagine they will refund you for the damaged book including shipping. All the other books are undamaged?

Re: damaged package

I would also follow up with them about the shipping. Amazon usually tacks on what...3.99 i think for shipping. To pay that for each and then have the seller combine everything and keep the extra shipping isn't cool at all.

I would also try to get a better pic of the opened plastic package. I have a hard time knowing what I am looking at. But maybe it would be easier for you to explain to them with the pic?

They should not have been shipped in a polymailer... That is just being lazy & cheap!

That's what I thought. For $24 bucks you would think they could ship it properly.

Is there a price on the shipping label? Did they ship media mail? I'd take a pic of the label also.
