What's next?

We're in cycle 14 of TTC. We have a wonderful five year old DS and I've been anxious to add to our family for years. I've been on Clomid 4 cycles now without success. I have two more cycles to go with Clomid and I find myself wondering what might be next. Several of my friends have gone down the adoption road. I always thought that adoption would be something I'd want to do - regardless of what my bio-family ended up being, but DH isn't sure how he feels about that. Oh how I ache to be pregnant again...

Re: What's next?

Are you seeing an RE or an OB? The next step really depends on what is "wrong" in this situation. A full work up by an RE is generally the next step after an OB tries clomid and possibly even IUIs for a while.

Re: What's next?

I'm still working with my OB. They said they'd refer me to a specialist if we don't have success with 6rounds of Clomid. I just didn't know if all hope was lost.

I that's all you've done so far, you are only at the very beginning of what they can do for you. I resisted going to an RE for years. It really is amazing how much more they can do for you. If you are doing all you can, charting (fertility friend is awesome), timing, clomid, ect.... then the next step is an RE. You will feel like you are starting all over again, but they do SO much more than an OB.
