Re: What size clothing did your full-term LO come home in?

My first was (still is) a little peanut and came home in preemie size. My other two wore newborn size for at least the first two weeks or so. I'm not a fan of too big clothing, so I don't mind spending a little bit of money on clothes that fit well, even if they'll only wear them for a couple weeks.

Neither of mine ever wore "newborn" and the 0-3 was basically just for that first week! DS was 10.9 and DD was 9.11. ;-)

DD1 was 6lbs6oz and NB was huge on her. My mom went and bought her a few preemie outfits that fit very well.

DD2 was 8lbs10oz and came in NB. 0-3 fit her but were a little big and I preferred the fit of NB on her.

All three were about 6 1/2 lbs and 19" long. Some nb stuff was still big but premie stuff was too short in the torso. BabyGap has an under7lb line and we had a few items, those fit perfectly.

Re: What size clothing did your full-term LO come home in?

My third was just barely full term (37 weeks 2 days) and my other two were preemie. She was the biggest at 5 pounds 14 oz. So, yeah, preemie clothes for her. I already had them ready and a hand knit small NB sweater, and the sweater turned out to be fairly large on her at first. Baby clothes are so small though, pack one of each size and see how big the baby is when he/she arrives!

My full term babies were all in the 8 lb range, 8'6 and 8'13. I also had a 33 weeker who was 5'8 and 19 inches and a 37 weeker who was 8'7.

My 8 lb'ers all wore 0-3 months. I brought a newborn sized outfit to the hospital for my oldest and she looked like an over stuffed sausage. She's 19 and we still giggle about how it was just too small for her. The doctors said she would be 5 1/2 lbs, 6 lbs max and she was 8'6. So wrong LOL

For my #2, I didn't get any newborn size, thinking she would be as big as her sister but she arrived at 33 weeks! She was 5'8 but 19 inches so I had to buy a bunch of preemie outfits and cut the feet out of all of them since she was so long. Thankfully it was August so it worked to have a bunch of footless outfits. She is 13 now and 5'11. No one ever believes that she was my preemie.

DS was born at 5.1 and wore preemie clothes the first few weeks. NB size until around 3 months. He's 5.5 months now and is still mostly in 3 month clothes with a few 6 months that fit. He's about 14ish lbs now
