What kind of detergent do you use? I had the worst problem with stinky diapers for way too long. I switched to Tide Ultra and haven't had a stink since!

We spray every diaper with Bac Out before it goes in the pail (a few extra squirts for morning diapers!). Rinsing out morning diapers before they go in the pail helps, too!

Yeah we don't really have morning stink, but diapered baby isn't doing solids now...

Flip cover stuffed with 2 pad folded flats, always washed in tide = no stink for us. Fitteds always gave us issues.

Bac Out is AMAZING! We order ours from Amazon. We use it for our diaper pail, pet messes and it works for odors/cleaning in general.

Tide in our experience just seals odors in, it doesn't really clean that well... Every time I buy diapers from a Tide user, they smell clean at first but when I strip them I find a ton of hidden stink and suds from buildup.

Anyway, urine turns to ammonia over time, and this is sped up by warmth and lack of air. Breathable covers (and no, Pul isn't really breathable) help. Fleece or wool work wonders at preventing morning ammonia.

I haven't had an issue with tide, but now I am slightly concerned. I may strip them to see where they are on build-up. How do you strip diapers? Also, do you throw everything in when you strip? We have fitteds, flats, prefolds, pockets, and inserts (bamboo ones and microfiber ones). Is there any of that I can't put in to be stripped?
