There are definitely bad days. All 3 of mine have had it. You can also get a liquid suspension that does NOT have to be timed around meals. We just got it for the first time this round. DD hates the cold, grape liquid, but she's getting used to it.

Mine is liquid suspension. The pharmasist did say 30 min before feeding and try when they first wake up and just before bed.

Re: Reflux flare ups?

I have heard from other parents liquid suspension can be very unstable and makes reflux worse because it doesn't maintain its effectiveness. Never tried suspension with DS but when we were having clogging problems ds's GI didn't even want to try it he just switched the Rx to Nexium. I think it would be a safer bet just to use Prevacid solutabs or switch to another PPI if the current form isn't working for you.

Also another thing to consider is if the sneezing might be hay fever. She might have drainage and all that gunk draining into the stomach can make reflux go crazy. I periodically have to put ds on antihistamine until his seasonal allergies calm down.

I've not used Prevacid. They put my dd on reflux. We weaned her off at about 9-10 months and she seems to be handling it ok. Te only thin I've noticed is she's had her first ear infection since. Don't mean to hijack the thread but maybe this info would be useful to you in the future as well . Have any of you other moms who have death with reflux seen a correlation with this? I'm wondering if it's increased congestion causing it.

Good luck with your baby mama. Reflux babies are not fun to deal with. It can really wear your down.

That is interesting about the ear infection. Maybe a coincidence but something to keep in mind.

As soon as you can switch to solutabs, try to do it. It is so much easier! They dissolve in kiddos mouth in under a minute and kiddo swallows naturally.
