Honest Company Diapers / BG's / Newbie Questions

Hello everyone. This is my first post here. Our first baby is due in 3 weeks and we're planning to try cloth diapering, but have decided to use disposables for the first few weeks. My doctor thinks the baby will be about 7.5 lbs at birth. I've got some BG 3.0's and 4.0's, an assortment of snaps and velcro. Any estimate for how long it will be before she fits into these?? I'm trying to figure out how many of the newborn disposables I will actually need. In my excitement over the adorable Honest prints, I'm pretty sure I bought way too many! Secondly, can I post disposable diapers in the IHA/ISO section (or only cloth diapers?)? I'm verified on paypal, but I don't want to sell them, I would prefer to trade for cloth diaper related stuff. Thanks for your help!

Our DD2 could fit into those at 8 lbs/2-3 weeks. They were fairly bulky but they did the job.

Re: Honest Company Diapers / BG's / Newbie Questions

The OS bg didn't fit my girls real well until they were at least 2 months. I could use them before them but they were just way too bulky for my liking. All three of mine were under 7 lbs. at birth though so I could use the xs bg aios on them until 3 months and then switched to OS.

As for the disposables if you end up not using them all before they are outgrown I would try to sell them on Craigslist first. Even if someone on here did want them they would cost a lot to ship.

Thanks ladies! It sounds like I've got some time before the BG's will fit. And my doctor is now thinking she'll only be 6.5 - 7 lbs at birth, so perhaps I'll end up using all the newborn disposables afterall

The doctor said my first was going to be almost 8 lbs. and she was 6 lbs. 10 oz. They can easily be a pound off either direction.

Both of mine were upper 6 pounds at birth. It's doable; they are just bulky in the beginning.

Re: Honest Company Diapers / BG's / Newbie Questions

My doc said my first would be (and I quote) "probably around 6-6.5lbs". He was 8lbs 10oz. .....so my recommendation is dont buy too many newborn sized sposies.
BG 3.0 fit a lil smaller imo than a 4.0. We had 4.0s for my daughter and she did not fit into them well until 12lbs but as Hilary said, they were doable..they were just very bulky and gaped at the legs. I would say with a mix of 3.0 and 4.0 plan to use the sposies till about 9-10lbs..but again, you never really know how big baby will be and their build (big legs, long rise, etc) can effect fit as well.

Not to encourage you to buy more fluff but....If you are wanting a cheap option for newborn diapering as a backup to your sposies, you could get a dozen newborn prefolds and some newborn covers. With dd we did pfs and covers until she fit well into her 4.0's...but we used a lot of sposies too during that newborn period. It was nice to have them on hand.
