I'm still just not sure. I understand the logic from both sides. I am trying not to look at it as something to do because I am scared. A friend did the 12 week ultrasound for that reason and spent the next 10 weeks worried about a potential heart defect that was nonexistent at the next scan. I have plenty of time to figure it out.

I would understands someone's reason not to get one completely. But I agree w Carrie. This early ultrasound put my heart at rest. And my 20 week u/s led to a 24 u/s to check up on a few things which led us to a perinatologist where we learned out daughter had trisomy 13. I am absolutely thankful that we knew that for 10 weeks and were able to love her for the time I carried her and make plans.

All that said I have many friends who choose not to get any and they are happy with that decision!
