Suggestion on baby gift: What size fall clothes would you buy for...

I am coming up for a baby gift for my son's gymnastics teacher. It's her second but her first is like 10. It's also her first boy. I was going to get her books that were made in the last few years and I wanted to get one long sleeve fall/winter outfit (if I can find one). She is due at the end of June.

I can't decide on 6m or 9m size. Which will be more likely be able to be worn.

My son was in 6m when he was about 2-3m so I was thinking 6m would be okay baby would fit in it in fall or at least dec/jan if baby was smaller. But if baby was bigger and moved up to 6m in Aug and Sept was warm maybe it wouldn't get used. By if I go up to 9m and the baby is small it might not fit until next spring or it could fit this winter.

ug.. over thinking

6-9. A little too big is better than too small!

6-9 mo

Unless you live in a very cold climate, or baby is very small at birth, he won't likely be wearing fall clothes in august/september. Fall clothes can be worn fall through spring so a little bigger guarantees it can be used that season. Too small and it likely won't be used at all.

How about 6-9 months and include a gift receipt for her, just in case?

I would say the 6m. Carters go 3m 6m 9m so with the 6m you should be good as that seems to be more like 5-8m IMO. If you go with something like the little pants and tops or long sleeve romper that would be fine for fall, winter or spring, can be covered up with coat for winter.

What range was her first in? My DDs both stayed exactly with sizes...3 month fit at 3 months, 6 month fit starting about 6 months, etc. I have little babies.

I'd buy 6 month size.

My daughter stayed right with the Carter sizes (6m fit up until about 6months, 9m fit from 6-9 months). Other brands were hit or miss. Now I compare all clothing to the Carter brand to determine it's "true" size. I'd get something long sleeved but not heavy, then it can be worn fall, winter or spring. And baby jeans can be worn in warmer weather too.

My enormous first baby was in 3 month clothes at 6 weeks, and 6 month clothes at 3 months. My average to small second child was in 3 month clothes at 3 months, and 6 month clothes at 5 months. To be on the safe side, I'd buy the 6 months, just to make sure they get to wear them. Around here kids wear long sleeved stuff from late september to early/mid may.

I'd buy bigger since there's the entire fall then winter then early spring to grow into them.

And I'm sure no matter what you get it will be appreciated
