What are you post partum must haves?

I remember with my first I had to go to the pharmacy to get a whole bunch of stuff before I could go home because I just didn't have the necessary stuff at my house.
Last time I was all set but I can hardly remember what I stocked up on.

Advil
Dermoplast
Pads- I have a bunch of MC but some back up can't hurt
Steel Cut Oats
tucks pads
peri bottle- i'll bring home from the hospital

I'm not making freezer meals, (my hubs does the cooking).
I've got diapers and baby supplies......

I'll be interested to hear some responses! Your list sounds good! I remember needing a stool softener with my first, but I had some pretty yucky complications.

OMG I love you. Stool softener is an absolute must have. I had to have surgery on my butt after my first!

I didn't require much last time, but I got lucky and didn't tear. For me:

extra chux pads
measuring cup (I use to pour warm water on myself after peeing instead of a peri bottle)
witch hazel pads
snacks that are easy to eat with one hand (apple for slicing, cereal bars, nuts, etc)

And of course regular pads, but I don't do anything special to those like freeze them. We had a whole medicine cabinet full of supplies like dermoplast and compresses and ended up using NONE of it. My partner cooks most of our meals as well (he's a SAHD) and there is no room in our little freezer, so no freezer meals for us either.

I need to get thinking about this too!

What are the steel cut oats for?

Can you buy a peri bottle at the drug store? (I used to have one but I think it is long lost and I don't think our birth center sends you home with one the way the hospital does.)

Steel Cut Oats are supposed to be the best form of oatmeal if you're looking for Lactogenic Foods.
There is also a beer at my local micro brewery called "Mother's Milk" and its a dark stout. I am totally wondering if it got that name because women used to make it to help with milk production back in the day!

Arnica is awesome for recovery and so is Floradix. Also Gatorade or the like, things for a smoothie, and soup are always good to have around.
