This really grinds my gears

My sil has taken my niece to the emergency room THREE TIMES in a week for PINK EYE. I'm about to start using asterisks. When I snarkily asked mil if she had tried taking her to the pedi she replies, totally serious, "yeah she saw him Friday." ....

Then this morning, ALL THE DRAMA, niece has been taken away in an ambulance!!! Sil posts this on fb, does she say why? Of course not, because she wants maximum internet huggles. So what was the problem? Niece had hives.

Is this real life?

Some people just freak out easier than others, some love the drama. Its a shame she's wasting time in the emergency room with what sound like minor things, but don't feed in to the drama!

Nothing but! I don't understand how mil and two sils are totally bat**** but dh, fil, and bil are sane, functioning members of society. They turn me into the worst sexist.

I'm surprised the EMT's took her to the hospital in an ambulance for hives. This is very sad. That is why we have such long wait times in ER's.

I'm sure my mil put on the theatrics. She also threatens everybody in a medical setting with, "My brother is a doctor, you may know him, (name drop)! I'm going to tell on you!"

Also the hospital is seriously less than five minutes from their house.

That's a shameful waste of Emergency room resources. Unfortunately, it's very common. I've seen people got to the ER for splinters. And these are the people who fuss about the ER wait times. Sorry, your sprained pinkie toe is going to have to wait until I stop this guy from dying on me. Geez.

As far as the EMT, it is probably their policy that if someone requests it, they cannot refuse transport to an ER. Another shameful waste of resources, but they do it to cover themselves in our sue-happy society.
