Help - paint on shirt

Dd1 was painting a pot with black acrylic paint and started goofing around and got paint all over her white shirt. I started soaking the shirt in cold water before it completely dried but it is still very stained. Can you get acrylic paint off clothes? While I don't personally care about this shirt becoming play clothes she won this shirt for reading a lot of books at school and this was the first time she wore it. So she's very upset that the shirt looks ruined when it is brand new and she worked hard to win it. The shirt is white with a bunch of screen printing on it.

I would do this: http://claudinehellmuth.blogspot.com...-your.html?m=1

Then turn it inside out and bleach in the wash.

Just be careful not to get the alcohol on the screen printing

What happens if it gets on the screen printing? The paint is all around the screen printing - I'm not sure I can avoid it. I suspect this shirt is now a play shirt for at home...

In that case I would tide to go pen it and see how that worked out.

I have never been able to get it out of the children'a clothes, or mine :-(

If it is just going to become play clothes you might as well try the alcohol method. I found it took some of it out of dd dress when I tried

The only thing I've found to get out acrylic paint is Pine Sol and scrubbing it with a toothbrush. It works best when the stain is new. Bleach probably won't work.

The only thing I have ever found that took paint out of clothes well was mineral spirits. I do not know how it would affect the screen print.
