Just need a little pep talk

My lo is two weeks old today. He cluster nurses all day long. There is literally zero time he is not nursing unless he falls asleep.

I know this won't last forever but the weather has been GORGEOUS this whole time and every day I am watching my three year old and dh go for walks to the playground or trips to the zoo while I sit inside by the window.

I have never been more sad that we don't have a yard. It's at the point where everytime the two of them leave the house I cry.

Just looking for a place to vent and a little encouragement.

I second the carrier! But don't give up, mama. Remember this too shall pass. Plus, in a few weeks it will be so awesome to just grab a diaper and go with your other lo- no big bag of formula supplies needed! Breastfeeding is sometimes tough at first but the payback is so amazing!

I did try nursing him in the wrap the other day but I felt like he was getting smooshed/suffocated by my boob. Like there isnt enough room in there for his head and my DDs.

Hugs.. Can you walk to the playground with them and nurse on a bench or in the grass?

I'm with you. DS is now 4 weeks and I still can't get out much because I suck at nursing on the ground/benches. I feel very confined and it is depressing.

My doula tells me this is like transition. If we can just get past the first 6 weeks, we'll be better. So I am concentrating on it like labor and hoping the reward comes soon and I'll be able to get off this dang couch.

It takes some practice, but sit on the floor at home and nurse to get used to the ground. Once you get it at home where you feel comfortable, go out and join the world. I still nurse a lot at 13 months. Feeling comfortable in public is great.

I don't understand how to do it without killing my back. Tips?

I sit indian style. It is the easiest way for me. Once they get bigger, it gets better. You can prop them up with your knee...LOL!
