Noise cancelling headphones?

I read conflicting reviews on size and don't know what to buy. My 7yo needs a pair for an upcoming trip, I don't have to return a wrong size and wait for new ones. His head is average to large Id suppose.

Help? Cheaper is better as we only need them during certain loud times. Anyone have a pair they wanna sell me?

Skullcandy is an excellent brand. I think they run $20?

What is it for? Do they need to be headphones? We used these (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS.../chrisficti-20) for my daughter on a MAC flight. They work great and are available at most drug stores.

Ds wouldn't allow those in his ear. They're for a noise sensitive child on a flight.

We have some. We bought them at cabela's like in the hunting section. My son is autistic and he allows them on his head and he wears them at school during assemblies, during church, and other noisy places. There isnt a brand on them but I'll try to link you.

Eta: you can still hear with them on. It just cuts out all background noise and you definitely have to speak up for him to hear.

Re: Noise cancelling headphones?

I did a TON of research before our flight in February. I found that these had great reviews, worked well with kids as well as adults and were in my price range. DD is 4 and they sometimes slip off her head but generally stay on so a 7 year old would be fine. On the plane we could still hear the engine (I seriously don't think ANYTHING could drown that out completely) but it was muffled and the sound coming through the DVD player and kindle was GREAT. Even yelling DD doesn't hear us when she uses them.

When you say headphones I'm picturing the kind you use to listen to stuff. Is that what you mean or do you want the ones just to block out noise?
