Newborn prefold width???
I am a HUGE fan of Imagine Smart Fit prefolds. I also like Diaper Rite prefolds that are cut just like the Imagines.
But...I have never used prefolds on a newborn. Would the extra width of prefolds like Imagine and Diaper Rite be too much between little baby legs? Are regular sized prefolds better for newborns because they are narrower? I don't mind having to fold down extra length. Also, I like to pin. Are traditional sized prefolds(in nb size) wide enough to pin? Advertisement

I loved my xs Imagine bamboo prefolds for my newborn. I started CD'ing him after his cord fell off, about 7 lbs, and I think anything else would have been waaayyyy too big on him.
Edit: I started off snappi-ing the xs prefolds. This worked for me for about 4 weeks (so he was 5 weeks old). I've moved up to smalls for snappi-ing but I still use xs for trifolding during the day, they are no longer absorbent enough for long periods for us anymore. We do try to change him as soon as he's wet. And we'll use them as doublers later and also burp cloths. Last edited by Gabe'sMommy; 05-15-2013 at 07:36 PM. |

I am using Osocozy NB and preemie prefolds on my newbie. I both pin and.Snappi. My LO was 6.6 at birth and he will be 3 weeks tomorrow and I don't see us needing the next size up anytime soon.

Re: Newborn prefold width???
The width was just fine for my little mama, but I could only trifold them after 2 weeks or so because the length was a little short for her. Smalls worked great- and still do at 7 weeks!
