legs in or out?

I see recommendations of both.I have a sling and a wrap.It seems like with ds1(5 years ago),we frogged...

Legs out is now the preferred position for both slings and wraps, from birth. Not that legs in is necessarily "bad," but if baby tolerates it then legs out is better.

Wow, only 8 days! Congratulations on the new little guy! It should be fine to keep his legs in for now, just make sure his weight is on his butt and not his feet. Before long, he should loosen up a bit so you can get at least his feet out. The pictures on this website are a great illustration of how legs out with a newborn should look:

I was told that if she wanted to keep her legs frogged all the time to let her be froggy in the carrier. That link had great advice though.

I am glad I ran across this! I had always read to frog the legs until they began resisting and then go legs out, but mine always resisted from the get go! So I wound up doing something like the seated cradle shown on that link. I will be sharing that with some of my local Mama friends
