How do you clean your fruits/veggies?

I'm always paranoid about stuff we buy from the store,so I was wondering what others do to clean what they buy...

Re: How do you clran your fruits/veggies?

i dont generally buy from the store anymore, most of my produce comes from Bountiful Baskets, but I wash with a more or less 1 part vinegar to 10 parts water solution. I fill up one side of the sink, then add vinegar, and wash everything except garlic and onions. let air dry, and store as usual. it kills the naturally occurring mold spores and stuff, and makes everything last longer

Would lemon juice work? I really hate the smell of vinegar.

I hate the smell, too, but I just rinse everything after the vinegar bath and it's fine.

Sent from my phone. Please excuse typos.

Cold running water. I've had years of food service experience and never used vinegar or soap. Food grows in dirt. It is okay.
