to go breakfasts for toddler/4 yr old

Ok so our old daycare provided breakfast. New daycare does not. I need healthy breakfast ideas for one very picky eater 4 yr old and a hoover toddler. They need to be easy and if possible something that can be made the day before because we are usually up at 4:30 so we can get to work. I also want them healthy but an occasional pancake will work. However, I can't use my go to pbj because of course it is a nut free school

We sometimes have to eat on the go too. It stinks..lol but it does get the job done. I will make up some banana bread and have them eat that sometimes. Also pinterest has a ton of ideas about homemade healthy muffins and quick breakfast ideas for that matter too. You can put sooo much good stuff in muffins and hide it.., we have done nutragrain bars too with some easy eat fruit like a banana and some no spill cups with milk or orange juice. Also ham cups are easy too. I cut up oranges. apples, really just whatever I have that I won't feel horrible about feeding my kids.

Re: to go breakfasts for toddler/4 yr old

I love oatmeal muffins!!!! Our favorite recipe looks like this

Breakfast Muffins

1 can pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie mix)
1 1/2 cup low fat vanilla yogurt
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup vegetable oil (you can sub butter or coconut oil)

Mix well and let sit for 10 minutes (this is important)

1 1/2 cup quick cook oats
1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
4 tsp baking powder
1tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 tsp cinnamon (or to taste)
1 1/2 cup dried cranberries

Mix and add to the wet ingredients stirring until just combined. Spoon into lined muffin tins and bake for 20minutes at 375 degrees.

This also works well with two mashed bananas in place of the pumpkin and your choice of frozen berries in place of the cranberries.

I had found this recipe on a blog but altered it a great deal to make it work for us. I need to see if I can alter it to make it work for us now that I am dairy and gluten free because I love it so much. My boys also love zucchini bread.

This is the best recipe I have found for zucchini bread. I make it as muffins cause it is easy and fast to take to go. I've found some breakfast bar recipes but haven't tried them yet so I can't post them with any guarantee of results.

My girls love fresh fruits, cheese sticks, yogurt, and hard boiled eggs in the morning. One DD even frequently requests frozen peas with her breakfast.

We generally do bananas and granola bars, or I make pancakes and/or waffles and freeze them. Easy to just pop in the toaster and run out the door.

Oh, and yogurt, my kids would live off of yogurt if I let them.
