Re: 24 weeks 5 days, baby is low weight

They said that about my 8'11 baby girl. They also estimated that DD 2 would be around 6 lbs...she was 9'9! But really, being small is not in itself a bad thing. What is worrisome is when a baby stops growing or falls off the curve. Both my niece and nephew were 6lbs and they are perfectly healthy!

Mixed feelings..happy that she's gained some weight but wasn't expecting the other issues. Not really what to expect now with regards when she will be making her appearance and what I need to prepare for mentally in the next few weeks. Guess ill have a better idea after the doc appt tmrw.

So the ob made us feel a little better about everything. She explained that the growth charts here are made for American women and American sized baby (and I'm in Texas where everything is bigger ) and I'm a tiny person (100 lbs average for most of my life) so having the baby measure smaller is okay as long as she is growing in a healthy way. And that the fluid issue could resolve itself or not, we just have to wait and see each week and not worry unless the scans show a true need to worry.
