How much do i HAVE to eat?

I started on this medicine that makes my appetite completely disappear. And now the dosage where that happens has been reached...literally like today it happened. I realized at like 2 that I hadn't eaten anything and I wasn't hungry in the least. I know I have to eat...obviously. But I don't want to force feed myelf because ill get sick. I know that breast milk isn't really made from the food you eat, more from your blood, which is affected more from drinking water, which I am making sure I drink enough.

That being said I trying to make sure I eat enough that my supply doesn't dip. I'm taking fenugreek just to make sure it doesn't tank...I routinely take fenugreek anyways for the digestive benefits. But I'm kinda freaking out about not eating enough.

I know for me I have to eat a lot. Like 2400 calories a day. Even at that rate I might lose weight. I have a huge appetite though. Especially when nursing.

Can you get a nutrition supplement shake so you can drink a lot of your calories?

I CAN...but I hate those things. Meh. That's why I was wondering. If I can avoid it I'm hoping to. Obviously I will if I need to, but those things are awful! ::ick::

What about juicing or smoothies? Making your own and adding a high quality protein powder should help you meet water and nutrition needs more easily. For me, it is much faster to slam down 8 oz of smoothie than try to eat a breakfast.

I'd concentrate on high-protein, good fat foods as much as possible then. Maybe a hardboiled egg? Chopped up hard boiled egg w/ avocado on toast or crackers? Small cubes of turkey breast and chunks of cheese? Small smoothie made with Greek yogurt or a few Tbs. of natural peanut butter? Banana "ice cream" (frozen bananas whipped until smooth)?

I'd been eating 300cal a day and burning 1,000 a day for a long time and still nursing my almost 2yr old 20+times a day. No problems with supply, but I now have fertility issues, i was just hospitalised with heart issues, and am really struggling day to day, it's not worth it to not eat.

That said, in all honesty, I would never recommend eating under 1,500cal a day.

I see a supply dip anytime I start consuming less than 1400 calories a day (not purposely trying to go that low, but the "cleaner" I eat, the harder it is for me to consume enough calories). I aim to consume about 1800cals, which should have me losing 1-2lbs a week. If I drop any faster than that, I would up my calories to ensure my milk quality.

I do the arbonne protein shake and load it with almond milk, almond butter, fruits and veggies. It helps me get my calories up, gives me nutrients and vitamins I would have a hard time consuming enough of otherwise. It actually tastes better than others I've tried.
