Need Quilt Help!

I have been all over the interwebz trying to find a pattern I like for a quilt I am making. It is for my Dad's birthday. I bought 4 fabrics. 1 lighthouse print, and then navy, dark red, and white to coordinate. I have 3/4 yard of each of the red, blue and lighthouse and a several yards of white as I was planning on using it for backing as well. The problem is I didn't want to do just a plain squares. I am a beginner and need to do this in 4 days. Any ideas or good blogs?? The quilt will be lap size.

Do the white for the zig zags and the back, the colors for the other pieces. Larger pieces will go faster than smaller. Maybe 4 inches for one square? To make it go faster sew the white strip to your other color in a large strip, then cut into individual blocks.

When I am in that situation, I go look at all the quilts on bing. I type in something like 'quick and easy quilt pattern' and then when I find one I like, there might be a free tutorial with it. Here is what I found today http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=...3-25&sp=-1&sk= Good luck!

I like the wave quilt by oh fransson. I haven't attempted it yet, but it looked easier than a million little squares.

Re: Need Quilt Help!

What about something like this, still squares and rectangles, but with the different sizes it doesn't look as plain.
