Recipes using frozen spinach?

My husband did the grocery shopping today. I had spinach on the list and he brought me home a bag of fresh and a bag of frozen since he said the list didn't specify and he wasn't sure which one I wanted. I'm pretty sure I've never fed him anything with frozen spinach in it (we only ever eat it fresh as a salad) so I'm not sure why he thought I might have wanted frozen spinach. Anyway, I now have a bag of frozen spinach and, since it's not something I've used before, I was wondering if anybody had a good recipe for me to try. Thanks!

Make a pot of veggie or lentil soup and toss in a handful of spinach at the end.

Or look up the Eating Well Moroccan lentil soup with cauliflower, it calls for frozen spinach.

Re: Recipes using frozen spinach?

We sometimes make a spinach cream out of it (would have to ask DH for the actual recipe ) and put it over boiled potatoes and fried egg

Green Monster Shake

2 cups frozen spinach
1 3/4 cups vanilla almond milk
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 ripe banana

blend in a blender and enjoy! So refreshing, and kids love it!!

This is also a very tasty side dish...

One of our favorites and it freezes really well to make individual portions for dh to take for lunch.

Re: Recipes using frozen spinach?

I usually make spinach quiche or pie and sometimes spinach hummus. Little ones eat both up

I've also tried it in spinach banana "ice cream" to make a mint "ice cream". Just blend up frozen banana chunks, spinach, mint extract, and sweetener of choice (optional). I'm getting bad at exact measurements It tasted good but I prefer to just use the spinach in quiche.

I love spinach dip

Frozen spinach drained and squeezed dry
1 block cream cheese
Shredded parm cheese (handful, I eyeball it)
Mozzarella cheese (again eyeball it. Maybe 3/4 a bag of shredded)
Provolone cheese (eyeball it. I use more than mozzarella because I like it)
Salt
Garlic (fresh and pressed)

Bake in bowl. Mix occasionally until all melted and looks like spinach dip. Serve with tortilla chips.

One of those no recipe just eyeball it and taste as you go.

It toss it in smoothies.

Ditto on the spinach dip! I also love to make Penne Rosa--there are recipes online, but I make mine with a box of penne, cooked, then toss in a big handful of frozen spinach, and equal parts spaghetti sauce and alfredo sauce (with a bit of red pepper for spice) and heat until warmed...so easy, yummy, and comforting!
