Mini pill users, question..

I'm on the mini pill while BFing and I've already goofed up. I missed a few pills earlier this month, not in a row, well 2 may have been in a row while I was out of town. Then DH and FINALLY got a sexy moment to ourselves last weekend. So the missed pills were BEFORE this. Yes I know this lessens the effectiveness, I didn't do it on purpose. At the time DH and still weren't doing anything and it took us soooo long to get preg last time that it hasn't been a big worry for me. Oh, and DD has started solids too, but is still BFing several times a day.
I guess I'm wondering how much I should worry lol.

Well, I was on the mini pill after I had ds1. He nursed round the clock and I never missed a pill and still got pg with ds2.

Oooh nice. I've read a few of these stories too. :/ I've been having what appears to be EWCM all this month too.

Re: Mini pill users, question..

I was on the mini pill after #2 and I got with DS3 when DS2 was 9 months old. I took the pill religiously, same time every day and never missed a day.

When I talked to my doctor last year about BC methods, he said he NEVER prescribes the mini pill, they're just not effective. If the milk supply is established he just prescribes the regular pill.

I was on the mini pill from the time dd was 2 ish months until 11 months. We decided to go off it and I got preg 1 week later. Sadly we had a mc and dd is 14 months so we are hoping to conceive soon

Re: Mini pill users, question..

Clearly, no birth control method is 100% effective. From the research that I did, it seems that the effectiveness of the minipill is increased by breastfeeding. If the missed pills were more than 7 days prior to sex, then there shouldn't be any increased risk. If the interval was 7 days or less, then there is some risk but it is reduced from what it would be if you were not breastfeeding.
