Well that kinda backfired a bit...

My 4 yr old will be 5 in November. She wasn't potty trained until 3.5, so it's only been a little bit more than a year. Still, she pretty much NEVER has an accident. I am aware that it can happen, but she just never does.

Well, today, she did. Several times. She's not sick, I think she just has gotten wrapped up in whatever. Two #2 accidents AND two #1 accidents. *sigh*. It's enough that I ran out of underwear for her. After accident #3 we had a discussion and still another accident.

So, I know I should have washed some after accident 3, but I still had no underwear after the 4th. Now I am washing them but in the mean time, nothing.

So, I told her that I had no clean underwear for her to wear. That she didn't use the potty like she was supposed to and now there's no underwear. I gave her the choice of wearing none or wearing a diaper, while they are washed.

She chose the diaper. And then laughed and laid on the floor and pretended to kick and cry like a baby *sigh* "look mom, I'm a baby just like baby CJ!" lol

That did not go according to plan lol.

Sometimes they just surprise you!

There's value in her being able to find the bright side though.

Eh, it'll probably be fine. DD1 had been 100% trained for a year and had 3 days of accidents. Then it stopped.

My dd #1 trained just before she turned 2. When she went to prek she had a few #2 accidents. This was after being trained for 3 years. It happens. Maybe she'll learn and tomorrow will be better

Not exactly the same but my 4 1/2 year old pushes the limits. Still wears a diaper at night & hates to change out I it most mornings! :head desk: he is so lazy IDK what to do with him. Tonight I told him multiple times to pee before bed. It had been 3-4 hours since the last time, but he'd had his melatonin and was insisting he didn't need to. 10 mins later I changed his diaper! Some nights he'll keep it dry and most not, so I can't just take it away.

That reminds me of when I said to ds "do you want to go to your room or are you going to listen? " to which he said " go to my room" and then happily trotted off to his room. Not exactly what was expecting , I told dh and he said "well you did ask"

Once I asked DS1, "are you going to help me clean or are you going to sit in time out while I do it?" He picked time out. My fault for giving him the option.

My 3 year old did this one day after being potty trained for over a year...2 days later a very nasty UTI reared its head. For what it's worth!
